Top Tip: Turn the assists off as soon as you start as opposed to 3/4 of the way through the game.

It’s free, which is fun.

The story mode isn’t the best, but there is a huge map to explore. I had a good time just trying to see all landmarks. Also since it is open world I was able to do cannonball like runs from New York to LA.

I got mine for free as one of the “Free Games With Xbox Live” things a few months ago.

The game is one of those fun games that get boring once you finish exploring the map. It’s absolutely awesome doing “Cannonball Runs” back and forth across the game’s fictional version of the country...but once you discover all of the map and get a seriously fast car, the luster is gone. You can only do but so many speed runs until it just becomes boring.

The thing that pisses me off most about the game is that the locations in the game are both extremely well detailed and extremely sloppy. Like in Chicago, you can spot a very accurate Tribune Tower, the old water works, even really obscure and not so popular buildings...but then major landmarks like Lake Shore Drive is...well non-existent...and Wacker Drive is a complete mess, it’s not even an inspiration of the real Wacker. (it doesn’t even have a Lower Wacker). Then for some odd reason, O’Hare is like, a half mile from Sears Tower? And let’s not mention that the street width is unrealistically wide, to accommodate for...extremely bad drivers??? Then as a final middle finger, the Chicago Loop (a major well-known highway system) is completely just not there.

You can find this crap all over the map, they did insane detail in some weird ass places you wouldn’t know about unless you lived there...but then they leave out major driving landmarks for unexplained reasons. It seems to me the only cities that got a half decent treatment in the game are NYC and LA.

That said, there’s a Bonneville Salt Flats in the game, which is redeeming.

Overall? I’d say it was a good game to play while waiting for Forza Horizon 3
